Redesign Way-finding System

The objective of this project was to overhaul the wayfinding system within Binghanton University's Fine Arts building to mitigate confusion and guide individuals to their destinations efficiently. The greatest challenge encountered was the constraint on creative freedom. Given the need for readability, my approach was to emphasize directional information in the design to create an eye-catching aesthetic without compromising functionality.

Challenge

Navigating the building's directory is complicated by the presence of three separate theaters, causing confusion for visitors and students trying to identify each theater. A primary objective in redesigning the way-finding system is to offer clear instructions that guide audiences to their intended destinations.

Next Steps

With mobile navigation increasingly streamlined, the project's next phase involves transitioning physical signage to digital screens. This digital approach allows individuals to navigate the building digitally while integrating seamlessly with the existing wayfinding system.
